Classes

Group exercise classes are a great way to help increase the intensity of your workout whilst ensuring the correct techniques and movements are performed under an instructor’s supervision. We offer a variety of classes focusing on factors such as speed, strength, endurance, toning, flexibility and core stability. But we are constantly looking to progress our group workout programme, and will be aiming to increase the number and variety of classes in the near future.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

ABS & GLUTES:
What is it?
Abs and gluts will provide incredible core tone, you will build strength, stability and endurance in the muscles that support the core.
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for all abilities, lots of options available.
What are the benefits?
You will strengthen and tone both your abs and glutes.

BODY ATTACK/AEROBICS:
What is it? A high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts. We combine athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats.
Who is it suitable for? This class is suitable for everyone.  Low-impact options can be given.
What are the benefits? A whole body workout that burns calories while toning and shaping. You’ll build stamina and our sports-inspired moves will improve your coordination and agility.

BODY BALANCE : 

What is it? Body Balance is the yoga based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. During the class, an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Thai Chi and Pilates
Who is it suitable for? Ideal for anyone and everyone.
What are the benefits? Improve flexibility, feel calm and centered and build strength.

BODYCOMBAT:

What is it? Body Combat is a fiercely energetic workout to get you fit, fast and strong. Unleash and empower yourself. Body Combat is a high – energy martial arts inspired workout that is totally non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness.
Who is it suitable for? This class caters for all abilities.
What are the benefits? A whole body workout that targets every muscle group. Feel empowered and fuel your cardio fitness.

BOXING PADWORK : 
What is it? A martial arts approach to fitness, this combat style of training is suitable for everyone. It’s a great full body workout which will lead to improved fitness, coordination, reaction, time, agility, balance, speed and power.
Who is it suitable for? Suitable for all levels of fitness.
What are the benefits? It’s a great stress busting class.

BODY PUMP: 

What is it? Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, Body Pump gives you a total body workout.
Who is it suitable for? There are options to suit everyone. It’s a good idea to start with really light weights or even just a bar.
What are the benefits? Get lifting with Body Pump and you’ll tine and shape your entire body. This full-body barbell workout will burn calories, shape and tone your entire body, increase core strength and improve bone health.

CIRCUITS : 
What is it? A multi stationed group exercise class that combines cardiovascular fitness with muscular strength and endurance. Circuit training is a fantastic workout that’s great for everyone, regardless of fitness level.
Who is it suitable for? Whatever your fitness level, you can go through the circuit at your own pace, so it’s perfect for everyone, whether you are a fitness fanatic or someone who’s just getting back into exercise.
What are the benefits?

KETTLEBELLS: 
What is it? You will swing, lunge and squat your way to improving your strength, core stability, balance, flexibility and coordination in our kettlebell class
Who is it suitable for? Suitable for all levels of fitness.
What are the benefits? Strengthen and tone your whole body.

LEGS, BUMS AND TUMS : 
What is it? A great workout for the abs and lower body; legs bums and tums will tone, shape, burn fat and improve flexibility. This class uses both weights and your own bodyweight.
Who is it suitable for? Suitable for all levels of fitness
What are the benefits? Lunge, jump, crunch, step, squat and feel your lower body getting tighter.

MOBILITY MAGIC:
What is it?
A class to improve movement patterns in every joint in the whole body. Learning individual exercises that we then put into sequences in a slow progressive way.
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for everyone of any fitness level.
What are the benefits?
Improve the mobility of joints for better ranges of motion which in turn improves your training outcomes in the gym in class your flexibility and in general day to day movement helping to reduce aches and pains of training and age.

METCON:
What is it? Short for metabolic conditioning, metcon combines strength and cardio conditioning, as well as both anaerobic and aerobic exercises. During a metcon workout, you moderately to intensely exert yourself for a prolonged amount of time
Who is it suitable for? Exercise modifications allow everyone to push their individual limits.
What are the benefits? Improve strength, increase cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle.

PILATES: 
What is it? This is a dynamic class. We utilise modern Pilates exercises which incorporate functional exercise principles. The class includes floor and standing work.
Who is it suitable for? This class is not suitable for those with serious spine conditions or injury.
What are the benefits? We have created a class that will give you increased core strength, flexibility, mobility and stability.

POWER YOGA: 
What is it? Based on Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha and Power Yoga, this class pays attention to breath, mind and movement improving strength and core stability. Vinyasa is moving from one pose to another as seamlessly as possible. Each session covers the basics and has a variety of postures. Warm up and basic key elements are incorporated into all sessions and alternatives and supportive adjustments are given. Arm balances and headstands may be incorporated into some sessions, working through the various stages to the final posture to challenge those who wish to have a go.
Who is it suitable for? A multi-level class accessible to all. Suitable for anyone wishing to stretch out; flexibility is not a requirement.
What are the benefits? Improve your flexibility and increase core strength while you reduce stress levels. You’ll focus your mind and create a lasting sense of wellbeing and calm.

RESTORATIVE YOGA & MEDITATION:
What is it?
This class is based on the principles of Yin yoga, whereby the poses are held for 1-3 minutes.
With the use of props to support, these poses work deeper into the connective tissues.
The class is quiet and encourages the participant to go inwards with their practice.
The second half of the class is based on Yoga Nidra which translates as ‘yogic sleep’. This is a guided meditation which takes you to a point between consciousness and sleep. It helps to bring a sense of tranquillity and peace.
Who is it suitable for?
This class is for everyone. The poses are slow, and easy to follow, with lots of options for varying abilities.
What are the benefits?
It helps to relieve muscular, emotional and mental tension. Relieves stress and anxiety and also helps increase energy levels.

RPM/SPIN: 

What is it? RPM is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun and low impact. RPM is a great way to build up your sense of personal achievement. You can draw from the group’s energy and find rhythm in the music.
Who is it suitable for? You control your own resistance levels and speed so you can build up your fitness level over time. It’s a journey, not a race!
What are the benefits? Improve your aerobic fitness.

YOGA VINYASA:
What is it? Led by breath and movement, set to music, this class is designed to build strength, cardiovascular fitness and enhance the awareness of the body and mind connection. Concluding in a short guided meditation, you will leave the class feeling stretched, strengthened and grounded.
Who is it suitable for? This Vinyasa Flow class is suitable for all abilities, with options for beginners and the more practiced Yogi.
What are the benefits? Vinyasa yoga improves energy levels while promoting relaxation and lowering stress levels. It also offers several other benefits, including stability and balance.
